Rehabilitation, Learning to Live with Blindness

Sue works Kismet near the Veterans Affairs Southeastern Blind Rehab Center

This is the story of my own rehabilitation process. I’ll take you through the entire rehabilitation process from struggling to read three letter words in braille to the triumph of the drop off lesson. These chapters will eventually become part of a larger book entitled, Out of the Whirlpool. I am placing them on this page of my web site where they will always be freely available. This is my gift to the field of blind rehabilitation which gave me so much, both as a consumer and a professional. This is my gift to those who are adjusting to acquired visual impairment, their families, and their friends.
